Elementary school construction is under roof; furniture fair set for March 20

Construction staff updated the board on progress at the new elementary school, saying the project is now under roof and that crews have poured plumbing trenches and are continuing framing work in Building C. Plumbing work and high-voltage electrical runs are ongoing in Buildings A and C; sprinkler piping has been installed in attic spaces and sanitary lines remain in progress.
A furniture fair for teachers and students will be held Friday, March 20 at 9 a.m. in the elementary gym (setup will take place the evening before), enabling teachers and students to review options and provide input on selections. Board members thanked English Construction and Mosley Architects by name for responsiveness to project requests.
Staff said demolition and ductwork remain in some areas and that project completion is anticipated next year, with several moving parts still to manage. The board discussed replacement of gym basketball goals and noted additional updates will be provided as work continues.
