Mount Clemens wins MEDC Redevelopment Ready Communities “Essentials” designation

The MEDC letter, read aloud by King, said meeting the RRC essentials and best-practice criteria allows Mount Clemens to provide a "predictable development experience" and makes the city more attractive to developers by signaling a streamlined development review process. King encouraged the city to use ongoing technical assistance, funding, and marketing materials provided through the program.
Commissioners acknowledged the long effort and singled out Community Development Director Brian Tingley for his work preparing local planning and zoning documents. Mayor Crop thanked MEDC and staff for the recognition. The presentation concluded without action items; commissioners said they will continue implementation work with regional partners.
The award is intended to help the city pursue new investment and align development review with local community development goals.
