Tim White, representing the Central Wisconsin Convention & Visitors Bureau, told the Weston Tourism Commission the bureau is actively promoting the area’s fall colors, festivals and family activities and emphasized cooperation with municipal partners to attract visitors.
White cited several local assets in Weston―the Mountain Bay Trail, the Green Heck Turner Community Center, a new kayak launch and Yellow Banks Park―and encouraged commissioners to use bureau data for planning and grant justification. “If you need data for anything, feel free to reach out because we have pretty robust data sets,” White said.
White also described ongoing efforts to support sporting events and conferences, noting coordination with facility managers to schedule multi‑day events and that a two‑year contract has helped planners secure dates that require long lead times. He highlighted the bureau’s work on joint promotion with nearby destinations and its participation in trade conferences to recruit events.
The presentation concluded with a reminder that the bureau and municipal partners should coordinate on hotel‑block and meetings‑fund requests and that tourism staff will continue follow‑up with event organizers.
