The Oakdale City Council authorized city staff to execute a construction contract for roof repairs to city buildings resulting from a hail storm, following a staff presentation on the low bid.
Public works/purchasing staff introduced the project and reported that a bid opening in June produced a low bidder identified in the meeting as Eber Companies at just over $1.4 million; staff said the contract had been reviewed by the city attorney and recommended council approval. The council moved, seconded and authorized the mayor and city administrator to sign the construction agreement.
The motion was adopted by voice vote and the project will proceed with execution of the contract and subsequent construction oversight by city staff. (Transcript includes a later variant spelling of the contractor name—"Eert Incorporated"—that appears to be a transcription error; the contractor was introduced to the council as Eber Companies.)
