Paducah approves midyear budget amendment increasing capital, insurance and grant funds

The Paducah City Board of Commissioners on Feb. 24 approved a midyear amendment to the FY 2025–26 operating budget.
The ordinance amends the city's annual budget to increase revenue and expenditures for the capital projects fund (revenues +$425,337; expenditures +$675,337), raise radio-fund expenditures by $211,000, add $100,000 to the investment fund, adjust the grant fund (revenue +$252,950; expenditures +$2,950), increase the health insurance fund by $500,100 and raise the insurance fund by $88,600.
The ordinance was introduced and read by the city clerk and approved by unanimous roll call; commissioners did not raise substantive questions during the meeting.
Staff indicated the amendment reflects reappropriations and adjustments to cover capital projects, insurance and grant activity for the current fiscal year.
