Committee approves three infrastructure resolutions, including lead lateral assessments and National Avenue easements
Summary

The Public Works Committee approved three infrastructure items during the meeting:
Resolution 2026-1466 authorized public improvements including concrete construction, reconstruction and asphalt resurfacing and the replacement of private-side lead water service laterals in various locations, and levying special assessments against benefited properties. The resolution was moved, seconded and approved by the committee.
Resolution 2026-1610 authorized the conveyance of a temporary easement interest to the City of West Allis for the National Avenue reconstruction project; staff referenced a map and identified a parcel near the Waterstone Bank corner as among the locations affected. The motion to approve was moved, seconded and carried.
Resolution 2026-1682 authorized the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to acquire and use portions of a city-owned parcel (north/northeast of 102nd Street) for the National Avenue Reconstruction Project; staff explained the parcel contains a transformer serving street lighting and that the DOT needs additional area to configure the sidewalk and cycle track. The committee moved, seconded and approved the resolution.
All three items were approved at committee and will proceed to the full City Council or relevant administrative steps for final implementation.
