Committee recommends dismissal in Haley Negron operator-license case; full council will review

Negron said the job—bartending at an establishment where the owner “Dean” is usually present—has helped her stabilize financially and that she is a single mother working to resolve debts and meet the licensing requirements.

Committee members questioned Negron about supervision and her hours (she said she typically closes the establishment and is the night worker). One member said they were disappointed that Negron did not tell the truth immediately and emphasized the committee’s responsibility to protect public safety and license integrity; another member noted that prompt honesty in similar prior cases led to better outcomes for applicants who later returned for licensure.

A motion to dismiss the complaint was made from the floor, seconded, and supported by the committee. Committee members noted that the recommendation is advisory: “This is just the recommendation to the rest of the council,” and the matter will be scheduled for a full council vote where colleagues may ask further questions.
