Mayor Sandra Bradbury presented the plaque and read Butler's years of service in the record (service dates read as March 8, 1998 ' March 28, 2024). Colleagues and community members offered personal reflections on Butler's mentorship and longtime work with training programs and area nonprofits. Councilmembers noted Butler's support for first responders, involvement with the Public Works Academy and local youth outreach.
Earlier in the meeting the council also recognized Keith Sail for an APWA Director of the Year honor and accepted remarks from AA Credit Union representatives about a financial-health partnership for city employees.
The meeting concluded with council members promoting upcoming community events and reminding residents of early voting opportunities.
