York County commissioners approve routine contracts, a cremation assistance case and designate printer for LB 644 postcards

The York County Board of Commissioners met on July 12 and approved a series of routine administrative items by roll call.
The board first approved the June 28 meeting minutes and adopted the day's agenda.
On motions from the floor, commissioners authorized the chair and county clerk to sign a subaward with the City of Lincoln to fund aging services and separately approved a service contract with Aging Partners for care management funding. The service contract was described as bringing approximately $10,000 to local services and will be executed with the chair and county clerk signatures.
The board entered executive session to discuss a general assistance case and left session at 9:22 a.m. with no action taken during the closed discussion. Following that session, commissioners approved general assistance case number 22-6 to cover a cremation and authorized the general assistance administrator to seek any assets to offset the cost.
The board also approved drawdown number four for the owner-occupied housing project (vendor payment for Ruth Oria) and instructed staff to record the vendor in the county system. Finally, the board voted to designate the State Print Shop as the printer for taxpayer postcards to comply with LB 644 for this initial year as county staff work through procedural options.
All listed motions were moved, seconded and passed by roll call during the meeting.
The meeting closed its scheduled business with committee reports on website redesign and IT management; the Tech Committee will review a 'Text MyGov' presentation in the near future.
