The board described the transfer as temporary and instructed county staff to contact the state crime commission and other grant administrators to determine why monthly statements and billing for hours were not being submitted or processed on a regular schedule. Commissioners said the transfer will be repaid to the inheritance fund when state funds arrive.
The resolution moved $20,000 from the 2700 inheritance fund into the 676 juvenile diversion fund. Commissioners emphasized the intent was to avoid interruptions to the diversion program's payroll while the county pursued administrative fixes with the state.
The board handled the transfer by resolution during its regular meeting; no additional conditions or amendments were recorded on the floor. The county clerk recorded the roll-call approval and the matter will return to regular oversight as staff reports back on the state billing issue.
