Councilman Josh Craft gave departing remarks reflecting on his time in office, faith, family and service: "I would just like to take a moment to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to serve the people of this remarkable city," he said, and described the work as "one of the greatest honors of my life."
The municipal judge then administered the oath of office. Cole Stanley repeated the oath in full: "I, Cole Stanley, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the duties of the office of mayor... and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and laws..." Tim Reid, Don Tips and Les Simpson likewise repeated the oath as city council members for their respective places and were congratulated by colleagues and the audience.
