Staff member outlines Fair Oaks Ranch strategic plan update

A staff member for the City of Fair Oaks Ranch said the city has revised its mission and vision and is defining goals under newly refined priorities after an initial resident survey that drew about 300 responses.

The presentation to meeting participants described work by a steering committee composed of the speaker, several city council members and multiple city staff, who reviewed resident feedback and used it to update the plan's mission and vision and to clarify priorities for the next five years. “Resident input has been a great addition to this to ensure that it keeps us on task and focused in the right areas,” the staff member said.

According to the speaker, the steering committee moved beyond broad priorities to begin defining specific goals tied to each priority area so the city can track progress over the planning period. The staff member said the initial survey responses were handed to the steering committee and informed the changes to the statements and priorities.

The city plans a follow-up survey to gather additional resident comments; the staff member asked residents to watch for that survey and to provide further input so the steering committee can continue refining goals that will guide operations and decisions. The speaker characterized the work as a collaborative step toward a five-year strategic direction but did not specify a timeline for final adoption.
