Fairgrounds transient stall fee raised to $20 per night to cover cleaning costs

The Churchill County Parks and Recreation board voted to raise the transient overnight stall fee at the 3C event complex to $20 per night to offset stall cleaning, labor and disposal costs.

Jesse Sigur, who provided the event and operations update, told the board cleaning costs increased to about $8 per stall and said the $20 base rate for single‑night transient users is intended to cover fuel, labor and disposal expenses. "We really need the the base rate to be set at $20 a night per stall just to cover all of our costs and expenses that go along with stall cleaning and disposes of all the shavings and manure and stuff," Sigur said.

Staff emphasized that the $20 recommendation targets transient one‑night stays (people passing through and not tied to a contracted event) while multi‑night stays and event producers will continue to be negotiated separately.
