Waukee ' At its regular meeting the Waukee City Council approved a series of planning, zoning and site-plan items, including a parking-ordinance second reading, final plats and site plans for commercial and multifamily developments, and a rezoning for Timberline Estates; one rezoning (Alderbrook) was tabled to March 16 at the applicant's request after staff received a formal objection letter.
The council approved the second reading of an amendment to Chapter 68 to add recently constructed streets to the city's no-parking zones. Staff said the change primarily adds new streets in recent residential subdivisions; the second reading passed unanimously.
The council approved a site plan for Premier Properties LLC to add roughly 7,345 square feet to an existing 12,621-square-foot dance studio at 870 NE Douglas Parkway, resulting in a building just under 20,000 square feet, with additional parking (66 on-site spaces plus a shared-parking agreement) and matching materials. Staff recommended approval and the resolution passed unanimously.
Council approved preliminary and final plats for the Caliber/Kettlestone development (two apartment buildings of 42 and 66 units) and for Walke Town Center Plat 6, which replats three lots into two for future commercial development. Staff noted required trail and sidewalk connections, stormwater detention arrangements and parkland dedication fees in lieu of land for the Kettlestone proposal. Council approved these items unanimously.
On the Alderbrook rezoning (application to rezone from A-1 to multiple residential districts), staff reported a formal objection from an adjoining property owner received Feb. 26, 2026; the applicant asked to table the second reading to March 16, 2026 to review the objection, and the council voted to table the item.
Council members voted yes on all approvals recorded during the meeting.
