Planning commission approves two annexations, forwards sign rule change to council
Summary
The Florence City Planning Commission approved two small annexation/zoning items for single-family lots at 2511 Ascot Drive and 2710 Troder Road and also recommended the window-signage amendment (TC 2026-08) to the city council with a 90-day grace period.
At its February meeting the Florence City Planning Commission approved routine land-use items and forwarded a zoning amendment to the City Council.
The commission approved PC 2026-06, for a newly built single-family house at 2511 Ascot Drive in Windsor Forest (tax map 0122101191), and PC 2026-07, for property at 2710 Troder Road near Grove Park (tax map 00984017). Staff said both properties are surrounded by parcels already in the city and recommended NC15 (neighborhood conservation) zoning to match surrounding lots. Both items had no public comment and were approved by voice vote.
Separately, the commission recommended TC 2026-08, an amendment to require permits for window signage and to cap permanent window graphics at 25% of each window; the commission added a 90-day outreach/grace period for implementation before forwarding the amendment to council.
Minutes from the previous meeting were approved by voice vote at the start of the session.
