The most significant single appropriation approved was $1,070,772.61 for the local road and bridge match (line 9111.51062.00000.0531). Council members moved and seconded the motion — Mike Sprinkle moved, Marilyn McCullough seconded — and the measure passed unanimously. Council recorded the meeting’s total appropriations as $1,402,433.21.
Judge Smith told the council that the circuit courts are backlogged with two judges and two courtrooms and requested an additional court reporter; the council approved appropriations and authorized adjustments to the salary ordinance to accommodate the new position. The funding actions related to court reporting and associated payroll lines included appropriations for court reporter salary and related benefits and payroll items as presented by Judge Smith.
Other approved appropriations included $7,000 for ambulance service, health-insurance line items, furniture and fixtures and clinical equipment funding for public‑health needs. The council also approved re‑appropriations of opioid-restricted funds ($11,794.22) and opioid-unrestricted funds ($6,215.08) for training, repairs and equipment maintenance, and a $5,648.30 appropriation for a vaccine refrigerator purchased on an urgent basis; those measures passed unanimously.
A separate transfer approved moved $4,000 from program supplies to entertainment expenses for West Boggs, and the council approved a $15,980.00 appropriation for equipment repair at West Boggs. The council noted Park Board minutes (Feb. 10) and DCH Finance Committee minutes (Mar. 17) as information items.
Auditor Jennifer Welsh asked council members to provide available dates so her office can set tentative August work sessions for 2027 budget preparation.
The council adjourned after approving the listed transfers and appropriations.
