Onslow County approves $2 million purchase of Basden property for planned indoor recreation facility

Mr. Brett Sams briefed the board that the county intends to use the site for a future indoor recreation facility and that closing is targeted for Dec. 31 of this year. The board voted to approve the offer to purchase and authorized the chair, county manager and county attorney to execute documents necessary to effectuate the sale.
No additional conditions or funding breakdowns were provided in the presentation; staff will proceed with closing and follow normal procurement and real-estate procedures.
