Terrebonne students honored as Students of the Year

The board recognized elementary, middle and high school Students of the Year for 2025-26 from across Terrebonne Parish and thanked community sponsors who supported district-level judging and prizes.
The Terrebonne Parish School Board recognized Students of the Year for 2025-26 across elementary, middle and high school categories at its March 3 meeting.
Superintendent Orgeron and staff called students to the front for photos and certificates. Winners named included Avery Morgan (Broadmoor Elementary), Ava Duet (Couteau Bay Elementary), Harper Giroir (Mulberry Elementary, also regional winner), Reese Cook (Evergreen Junior High), Max Dardar (Montegut Middle School), and Kate Henning (Terrebonne High School), among others. The district said winners' certificates will appear on the district website and be displayed in schools.
Miss Tanya Cook thanked sponsors and judges who supported the district selection, including the Houma Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce and local businesses Brooks Snow World, Scarlet Scoop, Nothing But Cakes and Texas Roadhouse.
No board votes were required for the recognition segment, which preceded the regular board business.
