Waupaca planning staff report 32 permits issued in February and River North subdivision update

Planning department staff reported on development activity and staffing at the March 4 meeting of the Waupaca City Planning Commission.
Juliana Stoves said the department approved and issued 32 permits in February, bringing in approximately $17,600 in revenue. She provided a brief development update on the River North subdivision, noting that four of the six single-family homes in the first batch have been listed and framing is underway for the fifth. Stoves said the department is recruiting for two positions: a certified residential building inspector and a code-enforcement specialist who could be trained on the job if not yet certified.
A commissioner asked about a line in the report that indicated establishment of a public museum on Oak Street; Stoves explained that was a digitization error in the permit records and not a newly issued conditional-use permit.
Stoves said she expects to share more details on staffing progress at the next plan commission meeting.
