The presenter said the district’s Vision 2030 strategic plan is nearing completion, with action teams finalizing work and a board presentation scheduled for the May meeting; implementation is planned to begin next school year.
Presenter described development of a "portrait of an educator" to identify the competencies expected of graduates and said the superintendent advisory group provided positive feedback; the district plans further roadmapping and professional-learning alignment this summer.
On facilities and events, the presenter said donors sponsored custom playground pieces and that the playground manufacturer expects to deliver those parts on July 11, with installation taking approximately three to four weeks and a target of around Aug. 1 for completion. The presenter reminded listeners of the Excellence Awards banquet on May 3, staff appreciation on May 5 (including a barbecue provided by bus driver Stephen Davenport), high school graduation on May 15 and the last day of school on May 22.
The presenter also said the board awarded the district’s pest-control contract to Esher Extermination after reviewing bids. No budget figures or detailed contracts were presented in the update; the presenter encouraged community engagement and summer-school participation to reduce learning gaps.
