SSD updates partnership-agreement language on capital projects, IEPs and AI policy; board approves

Tammy Yates and Dr. Chad Lent, executive directors working with partner districts, presented a set of updates to the district—s FY26 partnership agreement and asked the board to approve the uniform agreement and supporting materials.
Dr. Lent summarized edits in seven categories: staffing-calendar review (to acknowledge partner-district calendar differences); explicit language that SSD is not responsible for partner-district capital-improvement projects; new IEP and "charting a life course" language under student services; added language to review artificial-intelligence policies with partner districts under data and technology; transportation alignment language to reflect recent changes; and no substantive change to career-and-technical education provisions. Yates and Lent noted that the uniform agreement is attached to the action item and individual partner agreements can be provided.
Directors asked that consistent presentations and baseline data be provided when the agreement is presented to partner-district boards so governing councils can review and sign individual agreements; staff said a standard presentation exists and directors are asked to supply baseline data for their partner districts. The board voted to approve the partnership agreement and the coordinator/principal collaboration tool by voice vote.
The presenters outlined next steps and deadlines: directors are to review and present the partnership agreement to partner-district boards by Sept. 30, and partner boards are asked to return signed agreements to SSD by Oct. 31; the district plans a fuller review cycle to produce a final draft for board consideration next summer.
