The Strongsville City Schools board has been discussing the possibility of placing a bond issue on the May 2026 ballot to build elementary schools, Treasurer George Agnostu said during the district’s Financial FastFax program. "Although no official resolutions were approved by the board at this time, the board has been having ongoing discussions at their board meetings for a bond issue to build elementary schools for the May 2026 ballot," he said.
Agostu used a community Q&A segment to walk listeners through how bond levies differ from operating levies: bonds allow the district to issue long-term debt to fund capital projects and are repaid over decades, while operating levies fund day-to-day expenses such as salaries, utilities and instructional materials.
At the time of the recording, the district had not placed a formal resolution on the record to send a bond to voters; Agostu directed community members to district treasurer webpages for updates and invited questions via a QR code and the treasurer’s office phone number. Any formal bond proposal would require a board resolution and placement on the ballot under Ohio election rules.
