Centreville council accepts streets in Providence Farm phases 4 and 5

The Centreville Town Council on March 5 adopted Ordinance 1‑2026, authorizing the town to accept Providence Lane, Portsmith Lane and Bristol Lane in Providence Farm phases four and five into the town’s street system.
Town counsel provided background on the ordinance and Gay Adams, the town clerk, certified that public notice was published Feb. 18, 2026. The council read a single written comment in opposition from Tim McCluskey; no one spoke in person during the hearing.
Under old business the council moved to adopt the ordinance. A roll call was taken and the chair declared the motion passed with four in the affirmative. The council also approved a separate agreement to accept the roads and gave town manager Carolyn Brinkley authority to sign the acceptance documents.
The council did not record a named mover and seconder for the adoption in the transcript; the ordinance will be recorded in the town’s ordinance register and the acceptance documents will be executed by the town manager as authorized. The town clerk’s certification and the recorded vote are included in the official minutes.
What happens next: staff will complete the legal paperwork to transfer maintenance responsibility for the named streets to the town.
