Temple City Library names local winners of LA County bookmark contest

The Temple City Library recognized local winners of the LA County Library’s 46th annual bookmark contest during the Dec. 16 council meeting.
Ria Elias, the library’s children’s librarian, told the council the contest drew more than 186 entries locally from kindergarten through 12th grade. Local winners in each of four categories will be forwarded to the county board of supervisors’ office; the board will select a set of countywide winners in spring 2026 for printing and countywide distribution.
Council members called winners forward, named first-place winners and honorable mentions across grade bands, and posed for a group photograph with the children and library staff. Elias also flagged upcoming library programs in January for young children and families.
The library said local winning bookmarks will be displayed in the children’s area when the library reopens in the new year.
