Meridian council adopts ordinances on public camping, loitering and noise

On March 3 the Meridian City Council adopted three ordinance updates affecting public conduct and nuisance rules.
Clerk Chris read ordinance 26-2115 amending disorderly conduct/loitering language, 26-2116 adding a section on public camping and sleeping, and 26-2117 replacing the city's noise/public-disturbance code. Staff said the proposals had been presented previously and no members of the public signed up to testify at this meeting.
Each ordinance was moved, seconded, and approved by roll-call vote. The clerk recorded each member's vote in sequence and reported that motions carried on each item.
The ordinances take effect as specified in their text; staff noted that the presentations were on the record to allow any late public comment before final adoption.
