Mount Clemens — City staff reported at the Nov. 8 commission meeting that the Planning Commission approved a site plan for a new 250,000-square-foot industrial warehouse for Alrose Steel. The proposed building will be located west of the existing Jalter building and will proceed to engineering review.
City manager Mr. Shipman noted the site plan approval occurred at the Nov. 8 Planning Commission meeting and that the project will enter engineering review before any building permits or on-site work can commence. The report did not include engineering timelines, permit conditions, or a construction start date.
During the city manager report staff also announced holiday office closures for Thanksgiving (Nov. 23–24), modified refuse and compost pickup schedules, and summarized the Nov. 7 municipal election turnout (1,916 voters). Staff promoted upcoming recreation programs and downtown holiday events, including free parking after 3 p.m. on selected dates and the Mount Clemens light parade scheduled for Dec. 9.
