Wyoming County Schools board OKs modest adult meal price increase for 2025–26

The Wyoming County Schools board approved an increase in adult meal prices for the 2025–26 school year after a presentation from the director of child nutrition.
Miss Thomas, identified in the meeting as the Director of Child Nutrition, told the board the district proposes raising adult breakfast by 10 cents (to $3.70) and adult lunch and supper by 20 cents (to $5.70); snacks would remain $1.50. She said the recommendation follows a routine cost analysis by the state office of child nutrition and reflects higher food and equipment costs and reduced donated food supplies.
"We're also required by federal USDA requirements to charge adults the actual cost of the meals," Miss Thomas said, explaining that federal child-nutrition programs are targeted to students and adults must be charged the true cost for meals served to them. Board members framed the increases as incremental steps intended to avoid a larger one-time hike and to keep adult meal pricing aligned with annual cost changes.
A motion to adopt the adult meal price increases was made, seconded and approved. The board did not change student meal pricing as part of this action. The director confirmed the per-meal adult prices on the record.
