Assistant City Manager JW Hodge summarized recent council actions during the podcast segment. He said the council accepted a $120,000 grant from the Reno Rodeo Association to improve accessibility at the Idlewild Park splash pad; those funds will be used to make the splash pad more accessible for children of all abilities, including those with disabilities.
Hodge also described a maintenance-and-operations presentation on the Reno Arch as informational only. "Despite what it says on social media ... the maintenance and operations team, it was just a presentation on what the arch is. We're not making any decisions," Hodge said.
Separately, Hodge said the Reno Redevelopment Agency adopted a new brand and will be known as the Reno Redevelopment and Urban Placemaking Agency, or REUP, and that new brand assets will begin to appear in coming months.
The podcast directed listeners to reno.gov/news for the full council highlights post and to reno.gov/ontheagenda for agendas, staff reports and recordings.
Note on transcript spelling: the podcast transcript spelled the park name as "Idaw Wild Park"; this article uses the corrected, commonly used spelling "Idlewild Park."
