Board approves consent agenda, teacher and nurse contract renewals

The consent agenda — including the March 9 minutes, the schedule of monthly bills and employment recommendations — was moved, seconded and approved by roll call. Later, the board considered contract renewals: staff presented 494 teacher contract renewals and four nurse contract renewals. Beth clarified contracts will reflect the newly approved 2.63% salary increase and asked that contracts be sent to staff by May 15 and returned by June 15 at 4 p.m. The motion to approve the contracts was moved, seconded and carried.
Board members asked how many certified openings remain (four at the time of the meeting) and were assured the district expects additional activity as the school year ends.
