The Jenkintown School District board on April 20 approved a set of routine business items including minutes from previous meetings, financial items, special-education approvals and several education and facilities contracts.
Minutes from March 9, March 16 and the March 9 Curriculum Committee were approved without recorded objection. The board moved to approve consolidated financial items and discussed item 4.12 (the proposed final budget) as a document to be shared with families for review; board members clarified that the final budget would not be voted on at that meeting but would be circulated for public review.
Facilities items 5.1–5.3 were approved. Board materials and the chair’s remarks described an arrangement with a party identified as JY that would provide a payment holiday “for up to three years or $6,600, whichever came first,” while the district would incur a remaining $2,800 cost for benches to be installed. The package as presented passed on the motion recorded in the meeting segments.
Special education items 6.1–6.3 and education section items 8.1–8.8 (including curriculum and school-portrait/portal purchases) were approved. The board also approved a technology contract with Delco Solutions (items 7.1–7.5); staff said the purchase is expected to be covered by an available grant and the approval positions the district for summer work.
Personnel items 9.1–9.3 were moved and seconded; among the personnel matters was a secretary/principal position description for the Middle/High School. The board reiterated plans to bring a recommendation on Dr. DeAngelo to the floor for a vote following the recommendation.
The meeting record supplied does not include line-item budgets, contract documents or a roll-call vote-by-name for each motion in the transcripted segments; motions were described and treated as approved during the meeting.
