Acton Water District annual meeting: routine motions pass; several articles deferred pending free-cash certification

Acton — The Acton Water District annual meeting advanced several routine items with little controversy and deferred a batch of warrant articles pending state certification of free cash.
Early items approved unanimously included Article 1 (set annual salaries for district elected positions), Article 2 (accept the annual reports of officers and committees), and Article 3 (authorize short-term borrowing in anticipation of revenue under M.G.L. c.44). The meeting also reauthorized two revolving-fund caps ($100,000) for mitigation and new-service-meter installations (Articles 5 and 6). Finance Committee recommendations were recorded for each of these items.
Because state free-cash certification for surplus revenue had not been completed, the meeting approved a motion to take no action on Articles 7–14 and will consider them at a later special meeting after certification. The moderator closed the session after a motion to dissolve the meeting passed.
