The Lee County Fiscal Court handled routine business and approved several items on its consent agenda.
The court acknowledged a favorable state audit and approved minutes from the August and September meetings. It reappointed Jeremy Price to the Lee County Local Board of PEL for a two‑year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
Contract and procurement approvals included a one‑year renewal with Johnson Controls Fire & Life Safety Services (annual rate recorded in the transcript as 204,764), approval of an appraisal contract for the county buyout program at $600 per residential appraisal, and approval of title‑search work by Tacket/Randall Tet law office at $3,500 per title search. The court also approved the part‑time hire of a student (transcript: 'talent fox') for the road department co‑op at $14 an hour and the personnel move of Johnny Thorp Jr. from part‑time courthouse labor to full‑time solid waste labor at $14 an hour effective Oct. 9, 2025.
Equipment and claims: the court approved the purchase and installation of two snow‑plow spreaders for $39,548 and approved claims and transfers included in the meeting packet. Motions and seconds were recorded repeatedly on the consent items and the votes were taken; the transcript records the motions and the chair asking "All in favor?" with no recorded dissents.
What’s next: no additional policy action was taken; staff will carry out the approved procurements and personnel changes and report back as required.
