Sand Springs board approves consent agenda, personnel items and adds $80,000 contingency to press-box project

A motion to accept the consent agenda was made, seconded and approved on voice votes recorded by roll call. The board also voted to approve proposed temporary teacher recommendations and employment recommendations for the 2025–26 school year after motions and seconds were recorded.
Notably, the board considered an amendment to LD Karns' guaranteed maximum price for the Charles Page Memorial Stadium press box to add $80,000 in contingency to cover unforeseen repairs such as a water line and fire-safety upgrades. That motion passed with one recorded "no" vote and the remainder in favor; the board discussed that the projects remain within the district’s revenue-lease authorization.
Other routine approvals on the agenda included contract renewals, payment of a small number of prior-year invoices that require board approval, and adoption of a cleaned-up district policy. The meeting closed after final votes on remaining claims and agenda items.
