Temple City's council approved its consent calendar unanimously at the April 16 meeting and set up a short-term ad hoc to handle commissioner recruitment ahead of multiple upcoming expirations.
A motion to approve the consent calendar was made and seconded; the clerk conducted a roll call and the council approved the items. The clerk recorded votes as: Council member Chen yes; Council member Man yes; Council member Sternquist yes; Mayor Pro Tem yes; Mayor Chavez yes. The motion carried.
Separately, the council agreed to create a commissioner recruitment ad hoc to review applications for six seats with terms expiring June 30, 2024. Mayor Chavez asked the city clerk to provide commissioners' attendance records to the full council to assist the ad hoc's review. Mayor Chavez and Council member Jen Chen agreed to serve on the ad hoc.
Council members also reported that an ad hoc reviewing CDBG-like funds narrowed potential programs and asked staff to return with more detail on mosquito abatement and senior meal programs for further consideration.
