Administrators said the materials provide uniform phrasing for drills and emergency responses and supply sample messages for parent communications. The presenter described the resource’s origin — a family‑founded organization formed after the loss of their child in a school shooting — and noted the materials are freely available to schools. The board approved integrating the materials and the updated plan at the meeting.

Board members discussed operational details: the presenter said the updated language had been integrated into each classroom safety posting, and emphasized the plan will be shared with local law‑enforcement partners so officers know district procedures. A board member asked that the full evacuation processes not be posted on the public website; the presenter confirmed the district would not publish sensitive operational details online but would make appropriate summaries and notifications available where required.

The motion to approve the updated safety plan was made, seconded and carried. Administration said it would distribute the approved plan to school staff and to local police and sheriff’s offices and proceed with training and drills using the standardized terminology.
