The Kokomo City Planning Commission voted March 10 to forward a rezoning request for 801 East Hoffford Street to the Common Council with a favorable recommendation.
Jacob Robertson, representing Timber Pros LLC, said the owner seeks to convert the lot from residential to commercial to construct a vehicle storage building and a front office on an existing foundation. "What we're wanting to do is change the lot 801 East Hoffford from residential to commercial use," Robertson said, summarizing the proposal.
Director Sheeline, presenting the staff report, said the parcel is a lot of record, noted adjoining zoning and comprehensive-plan designations that call for general commercial use, and reported a traffic count of 6,277 vehicles per day for the area. Sheeline said staff desired that the commission forward a favorable recommendation to the Common Council.
With no questions from the board or members of the public, the commission approved the recommendation by voice vote. The item will be presented to the Common Council at a future meeting for final action.
