Commissioner Ray moved to intervene on behalf of track 2650; Commissioner Edwards seconded. The court approved the motion by voice vote and then approved a companion motion to intervene on behalf of track 2662. County staff indicated the filings before the PUC are the first step and that the county may seek a countywide intervention or other coordinated filings through a regional planning group.
Court members announced a community meeting that evening at the Morgan Mill Community Center for concerned citizens to hear speakers about the 765 kV lines and noted a regional planning commission (Special Regional Planning Commission) meeting scheduled the next weekday to continue policy and filing coordination. Staff were directed to prepare and file the necessary intervention pleadings and to coordinate engineering review where appropriate.
