Senate joins Chamber of Commerce in hosting Sector Partnerships Showcase; lawmakers invited to meet exhibitors

The Senate on the floor announced a partnership with the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii to host a Sector Partnerships Showcase at the capitol. Senator Afte said the event highlights industry‑led sector partnerships representing seven sectors — clean energy, creative industries, engineering, healthcare, natural resources, technology and transportation — and that exhibitors would share workforce data, hiring demands and policy barriers affecting business growth.
Senator Afte invited members and the public to meet lead industry representatives in the gallery and noted the healthcare sector alone faces more than 4,000 job openings statewide. She said the showcase runs from 1 to 3 p.m. on the fourth floor and that exhibitors would provide interactive exhibits and opportunities for direct conversations with lawmakers.
Chamber staff were acknowledged in the gallery and members were invited to hold applause until all representatives were recognized. The chair ordered that the names of the Chamber representatives be inserted into the journal at the appropriate time.
