On facilities, administration said HHSDR will advertise bids for the next phase of elementary school remodeling — general construction, HVAC, electrical and fire protection — and that a separate bid package for security cameras at the middle and high school campus will be released to comply with PCCD grant requirements.
Buildings & Grounds staff described planned playground projects at Aiken and Dormont, including larger, ADA‑compliant equipment, new spongy surfacing and coordination needs with simultaneous window installations and drainage work. Staff emphasized sequencing the projects so paving and subsurface work are completed before playground installation.
A board member said the district will fund the playgrounds rather than require PSO/booster fundraising for the equipment. Administration said coordination with principals and school parent organizations will follow once contracts are awarded and start dates are set.
Other routine items noted for the consent agenda included renewals of dual‑enrollment or service agreements with area colleges and partner programs and personnel appointments listed in the meeting packet. No formal votes on these items were recorded at this meeting; action was scheduled for the board's next regular meeting.
