“I would just like to be invited to your community to do so,” Miles said during the public-comment period, later answering council questions about hours and operations during the resolution’s first reading.
Council introduced Resolution 26-1239 for a first reading, which would approve the planning commission’s recommendation on the conditional-use request. Officials said the planning commission met twice, reviewed Miles’s business plan and passed a recommendation at its most recent meeting.
Miles told council the planned hours are Monday–Thursday 11 a.m.–9 p.m., Friday 11 a.m.–midnight, Saturday 10 a.m.–midnight, and Sunday 11 a.m.–8 p.m., with the kitchen closing about 45 minutes before the posted closing time. Council asked about the restaurant’s atmosphere and music; members discussed and suggested a stipulation limiting outside or loud music to keep the venue food-focused.
Council discussed whether to suspend rules for immediate final action but concluded they needed six votes to do so and one member was absent; the item remained a first reading to be revisited at a future meeting.
The record shows no final council vote on the conditional-use request during this session; the item will return for further consideration under the council’s normal procedure.
