A motion to accept the voluntary surrender/voluntary suspension was made, Commissioner Wilburn seconded, and the motion carried. The commission clarified that the voluntary suspension would effectively be an indefinite suspension while litigation or a formal hearing is pending and said clerical paperwork would be provided to finalize the surrender/suspension.
The commission recorded that the Newbern matter would be handled via the voluntary surrender/suspension paperwork and that parties could pursue formal hearing options or appeals consistent with POST procedures.
