Youth committee member urges student poll-worker program; council approves consent calendar

"I think that it's a really great cohort, but it is a small cohort of about 12 and I think that we can do more as a city to engage more students," Evelyn said, adding that she planned to bring the idea to the youth committee.
After public comment the council moved and seconded approval of the consent calendar. The clerk conducted a roll call: Council member Chavez, Council member Chen, Mayor Pton Man and Mayor Sternquist voted "yes." Council member U was absent. The consent calendar passed.
Council members also used their reports to thank parks and recreation staff for the Halloween event turnout and to recognize local groups such as Boy Scout Troop 167 on their anniversary. The meeting closed with a memorial reference and adjournment.
