Officials said roughly $100,000 will support the Council on Aging’s transportation program, with about $6,266 reserved for a payment‑marking program and the remainder applied to pavement‑marking and other recommended items from the Transportation Board. Transportation staff and the board said the allocation is consistent with past uses of TNC funds and with the town’s annual reporting to the state.
Board member Paul Warren said he supported using the funds for subsidized transportation for older adults and for pavement markings. The public hearing yielded no speakers; the board moved favorable action and approved the appropriation by roll call.
What happens next: Finance and the implementing departments will track expenditures under the appropriation and include the use of funds in the town’s annual TNC report to the state.
