The Rosemount City Council adopted its 20262027 goals and strategic directions on March 3 after a presentation by city staff outlining four priority focus areas.
Mr. Mark summarized the councils process and the four primary focus areas: (1) grow and enhance Rosemount through housing, retail and amenities; (2) strengthen community connections through parks, trails and events; (3) preserve the citys hometown feel as growth continues; and (4) sustain a high-performing staff to implement the plan. He noted staff and leadership teams spent several hours developing initiatives to advance those buckets.
Staff highlighted near-term work tied to the goals: a fire department analysis with planned public presentation in April, a new building-permit software launch, transportation projects including a roundabout at Conamera and a signal at Piscane and County Road 42, and continued investments in trails and parks resurfacing. The council moved to adopt the goals, the motion was seconded and approved on a roll call.
Council members commended staff for their work and asked that project updates come back through quarterly work sessions. The council set the goals as guiding priorities for staff implementation; several items (fire study, permits software, capital projects) carry specific next steps to report in future meetings.
