Montgomery board approves special-use permit for Teter Automotive with conditions

Director Amp told trustees the version of the ordinance before the board had a condition removed that would have restricted hours of operation; all other conditions remain. "At the last meeting after some discussion the board requested that the condition that was in the ordinance related to restricting hours of operation be removed," Director Amp said, and staff confirmed an occupancy inspection had been completed and identified only minor, fixable items.
The ordinance also includes site variations to allow vehicles to be stored in the front yard and to reduce the required parking for the property. Trustees asked whether off-site or auxiliary parking would be used for additional vehicles; Director Amp said vehicles will be limited to one per purchased off-site spot and that any auxiliary parking would occur at lots such as the nearby Superior property.
A motion to approve the ordinance was moved and seconded; roll-call votes were recorded as yes from Trustees Marisk, Bersca, Guyer, Sperling and Youngerman. The clerk announced the motion carried 5-0. "Congratulations, Mr. Teter," the clerk said after the vote.
The board approved the ordinance at second reading; Director Amp and staff said the applicant will need to complete required corrections from the occupancy checklist before the village issues a final occupancy permit. No fines, permit fees, or specific compliance deadlines beyond the occupancy-permit requirement were stated in the record.
