Fargo board approves Krauss Anderson as construction manager for new North Side elementary

District staff described the procurement process to the board: five proposals were received, a selection committee followed North Dakota Century Code procedures and shortlisted three firms for interview, and Krauss Anderson was recommended for its regional experience building educational facilities, a competitive cost proposal and an aggressive schedule. James Han, who led the selection process, told the board the firm's schedule could help the district occupy the building before the start of the 2028 school year.
Board members asked procedural clarifying questions during discussion, including confirmation that the district's recently hired architect participated on the selection committee. No amendments to the recommendation were proposed.
The contract award authorizes district administration to issue an agreement with Krauss Anderson for CMAR services for the Horseman-site elementary project. The board did not discuss contract dollar amounts in the meeting record.
