The presenter said the district retained three priorities — producing ‘‘success‑ready’’ students, retaining and recruiting staff, and sustaining collaborative climates — and revised some underlying goals and action steps to reflect progress and new targets.
Key targets highlighted in the presentation include a goal that 80% of students in grades 2 through 8 read at grade level and an objective that building administrators and 100% of math teachers gain a working understanding of evidence‑based strategies for instruction. The presenter also said the CIP’s action steps align with existing district plans such as the professional development plan, assessment plan and building improvement plans.
Board members discussed how the district will report progress. Staff said they will provide quarterly reviews of the CIP and will share additional documentation, including the district’s plan report card, after the school year is complete.
