"Everything was secured. We did everything as we would in normal protocol when something like that occurs," she said.
Lissa said this was the first time the K9 was used in the high school parking lot, and that the service is contracted and used regularly alongside random drug testing. She emphasized that, while she could not discuss all the details, the situation was handled efficiently and additional searches are planned through spring.
Committee members did not request further public details at the meeting; Lissa invited questions and confirmed additional K9 checks are scheduled in March and April with May being a busier month for campus activities.
