Planning staff presented staff item 26‑SI‑3 and the Elkhart City Plan Commission approved a grouped set of address and permit items at the March 2 meeting.
Staff listed several approvals: single‑family dwelling permits for addresses on Green Leaf Boulevard (including 3400, 2406, 2410, 3414 and 3418 Green Leaf Boulevard), a multi‑unit conversion for the former Mberry School into apartments (units 101–304), a single‑family dwelling at 1620 South 9th Street, single‑family dwelling at 1425 West Indiana, a residential subdivision address at 1499 East Lake Drive West (service in easement), commercial readressing for Enchanted Gardens Lane (formerly Patterson Court) including an address change for Linton’s Garden from 315 to 318 Enchanted Gardens Lane, downtown unit readressing for 125 North Main (units 200–204) and 300 West High Street (units 200 and 300), and a new industrial building proposed at 1100 Mishawaka Street.
Staff explained the Enchanted Gardens Lane readressing followed a prior mayoral street‑name change and said the records are being updated accordingly. Commissioners briefly clarified a commercial address number before the item was moved and approved.
A motion to accept the addresses as presented was moved and seconded (the record shows the motion was moved by Mr. Mishler and seconded by Mr. Newell). The motion carried by voice vote.
The commission also noted a makeup board training session scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. and adjourned the meeting thereafter.
