Harris County approves new memorandum with UGA Cooperative Extension

The Harris County Board of Commissioners approved a memorandum of understanding March 3 between the county and the University of Georgia System on behalf of UGA Cooperative Extension. County staff said the MOU clarifies what the county will provide for extension services and how extension personnel will be paid; the current arrangement dates from October 2020.
County attorney Russell Britt reviewed the document and staff asked the board to authorize the chair to execute the agreement. A commissioner moved to approve, the motion was seconded and the board carried the item unanimously.
The agreement takes effect on execution and remains in force until either party terminates it with 90 days’ written notice. Staff said the item was routine and part of the county’s continuing support for extension programming.
